Backpacker Travel Insurance

Being a backpacker is all about freedom and flexibility. Freedom and flexibility to change your mind, and to experience as much as possible – which includes travelling more affordably.

When you’re planning your adventure at home, it can be tempting to think you should go without travel insurance to save money, but that is a risky and potentially expensive choice to make. Generally, if you can’t afford to pay for travel insurance, you will be unlikely to be able to pay a hospital bill for emergency medical treatment either if the unexpected happens. Don’t leave it to your mum or dad to pick up the pieces, make travel insurance a necessity so you can relax knowing that you have good cover.

As fun as backpacking can be, there are things that you won’t be covered for. Couch surfing at a stranger’s place or hitchhiking is not something you would be covered for should anything go wrong. Like most insurance policies, there are exclusions that apply, so make sure you check these before you decide to purchase a policy.
